Tan Hui Siu

Malaysia

Dr. Tan Hui Siu, a clinician for 17 years with administrative and policy-making experience, graduated from University of Malaya and obtained her professional degree in 2010. Previously the head of two paediatric departments, she initiated a few systems at the state and national level. As a Yayasan Khazanah scholar, she holds a Master of Bioethics degree from Harvard.

She concentrates her efforts on developing clinical ethics support in public hospitals - Hospital Ethics Support Service in Hospital Ampang was set up last year. As the Malaysian Bioethics Community co-founder, she led the editorial work for “Bioethics and COVID-19 - Guidance for Clinicians” and published a few articles during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also a Malaysian Research and Ethics Committee member, her other areas of interest include social advocacy, inter-sectoral collaboration, narrative ethics, and healthcare leadership.
