  • Chair of the Critical Care Medicine Committee of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA)

  • President Elect 2022 of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM)

  • Appointed on the Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SCC) COVID guidelines committee

  • Among the 14 international airway experts working on the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) difficult airway guidelines and the PUMA guidelines (Project for the Universal Management of the Airway).

  • Research interests include airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, nosocomial infections  and sedation.

  • Developed a new test in hemodynamic monitoring, called the “tidal volume challenge” (CCM 2017).

  • On the editorial board of Anaesthesia (IF 6.955), Canadian Journal of Anaesthesia (IF 5.063) Journal of Critical Care (IF 3.425) and Trends in Anaesthesia and Critical Care (IF 1.81). Previously, Intensive Care Medicine (IF 17.440).
