Gavin Joynt is currently Professor and Chairman of the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Chinese University of Hong Kong. He trained in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is past Chairman of the Board of Intensive Care of the Hong Kong College of Anaesthesiology. Research interests include antibiotic pharmacokinetics, sepsis, infections and infection control, medical ethics in intensive care and medical education. He is co-founder of the international BASIC Collaboration, focused on delivering high quality, affordable education to doctors and nurses treating patients with critical illness.
