Sepsis remains highly lethal entity with in-hospital mortality approaching 30% despites
advances in critical care during the last several decades. The Surviving Sepsis Guidelines or Protocol seems to be effective in reducing death but the effect looks like its not progressing further. This phenomenon underscores the heterogeneity of sepsis which requires personalized care and individualisedtreatment. Any 1-solution-fit-all protocol will struggle to meet these demands and sometimes can be detrimental in certain subgroup of sepsis. In this talk we will highlight the way forward in sepsis management by incorporating sensible evidence-based approach and personalized medicine.
