Limping or acute refusal to walk is a common ED presentation among children. Differential diagnoses are very broad, ranging from minor soft tissue injuries to more life threatening conditions like malignancies or septic joints. Thorough history taking & systematic physical examinations coupled with diagnostic imaging & lab investigations are often necessary to guide us in making our diagnosis. The main objective of our assessment in ED is to identify red flags and to decide the patient’s disposition from ED, admission or discharge. In this presentation, I will share with you on some of the tips & tricks on the assessment & management of a limping child in the ED.
